Subaccount
Learn to create Subaccounts to manage reputation, activity, and reports across different senders.
Overview
Subaccounts let you split your main CPaaS account into smaller, independent accounts. Each subaccount has its own credentials, settings, and reporting. You can manage them all from your main account.
This is useful when you work with multiple teams, clients, or projects and want to keep their communication activity separate.
Subaccount Permissions & Features
- Can view live email feed (email requests, deliveries, opens, clicks, bounces, abuse reports).
- Uses email credits allocated by the Master account.
- Cannot create additional Subaccounts.
- Can add multiple domains.
Key Benefits
- Better Organization: Group communication by team, client, or project.
- Dedicated Credentials: Each subaccount has its own API keys and settings.
- Separate Billing: Track usage and costs per subaccount.
- Improved Security: Limit access so users only see their own subaccount data.
- Central Control: Manage all subaccounts from a single dashboard.
Use Cases
Refer to the given table to read some simple use cases for different industries.
| Industry | Use Case | Example |
|---|---|---|
| E-commerce | Separate Stores | An online retailer creates a subaccount for each brand (Fashion, Home Decor, Electronics) so each team can run campaigns and track results independently. |
| Flash Sales | A marketing team uses a dedicated subaccount for flash sales, keeping these campaigns separate from order confirmations. | |
| Regional Rollouts | Subaccounts are created for different countries to manage local language templates, compliance rules, and delivery preferences. | |
| BFSI | Branch-specific Communication | A bank sets up subaccounts for each branch or region so branch managers can send local alerts like branch closures or community event updates. |
| Product-based Segmentation | Subaccounts are used for credit cards, loans, and insurance, making reporting and compliance audits simpler. | |
| Customer Support & Collections | A dedicated subaccount is used for payment reminders and overdue notices, keeping them separate from marketing messages. |
Workflow
- Create a Subaccount: From your CPaaS dashboard, add a new subaccount and assign it a name.
- Generate Credentials: Each subaccount gets unique API keys for sending messages.
- Assign Users: Give access only to the people who need it.
- Track Performance: Monitor usage, delivery rates, and cost per subaccount.
