Webview in RCS Templates
Use Webview in RCS templates to open links in-app without leaving the chat.
Overview
Webview lets URL buttons in RCS templates open inside the RCS app instead of switching to the device’s browser. It creates smoother journeys and keeps users engaged within the conversation.
Webview is helpful specifically at:
- In-app forms: Collect survey responses, leads, or feedback without redirecting users.
- Mini landing pages: Display campaign details, product information, or offers inside the chat.
- App-like flows: Enable quick tasks such as login, OTP checks, or short quizzes in the RCS thread.
Steps to Enable Webview
- Navigate to Template Management and start creating an RCS template.
- Add a button and select Type of action as URL with tracking or URL without tracking
- In the Open URL in section, select the view type from the following options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| External browser (Default) | Opens the URL in the device’s default browser outside the app. |
| In-App – Full screen | Loads the URL inside the app using a full-screen view. |
| In-App – Tall screen | Displays the URL in a tall in-app window, keeping part of the chat visible. |
| In-App – Half screen | Opens the URL in a half-screen in-app view for a split experience. |
- Save and submit the template for approval.
Fallback Behaviour
If the user’s device does not support Webview, the link opens in the device’s default browser automatically.
